女媧氏揀石補天。 女媧氏是傳說中的人物。 傳說，上古時代，共工氏和祝融氏是天上的二個巨人，有一天，二人打起架來，驚天動地，造成了很大的破壞， 連天也被打破個洞，不停的流下水來。 女媧氏是位女神，她在山上揀了許多五色石，用火燒成石漿，把天上的窟窿給補好了。
Nuwa mends the sky with stones. Nuwa is a character in ancient legends. Legend has it that during the primaeval times, Gonggong, the water god, and Zhurong, the fire god, two giants in the heavens, fought one day. The battle was so intense that it caused great destruction, even tearing a hole in the sky from which water kept pouring. Nuwa, a goddess, picked many multicoloured stones from the mountain, melted them into magma with fire, and used them to mend the hole in the sky.
