Allegory

The Chen Bridge Rebellion, a significant event in the Song Dynasty, saw the founder Emperor Taizu Zhao Kuangyin serving as a military inspector. After the passing of Emperor Shizong, his young son, Emperor Gong, ascended the throne. (Zhao) was ordered to attack Hedong, and the army arrived at Chen Bridge. Faced with the young emperor and political turmoil, the generals and soldiers urged Emperor Taizu to take the throne. Initially, he refused, but later, while Taizu was intoxicated and asleep, they dressed him in a yellow robe. They then led the army back east and accepted the abdication of Emperor Gong. (Emperor Gong was seven years old that year, and the Empress had just become a widow. The rebellion was seen as more appropriate than the abdication, and thus, Emperor Taizu became the new ruler.)
