Su Qin, a figure from the Warring States period of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, was a disciple of Guiguzi. His story, a testament to the power of perseverance, is one that resonates through the ages. He tried to persuade the King of Qin, writing twelve volumes to state his case, but he was unsuccessful. His clothes were worn out and his gold was exhausted. He returned home in a state of extreme exhaustion. Upon his return, his wife did not stop weaving to greet him and his sister-in-law did not cook for him. Ashamed and angry, Su Qin obtained the "Yinfu" of Taigong and devoted himself to intense study. When he felt tired, he would stab his thigh with an awl to keep himself awake and continue reading. Later, with his Vertical Alliance strategy, he united six states to resist Qin, and through his persuasion, he wore the seals of the six states' prime ministers.
