Jiang Taigong meets King Wen: During the Zhou dynasty, Jiang Shang, also known as Taigong or Lü Wang, a man from Ji (in modern-day Xu Province), who was also known by his Taoist name Flying Bear, lived by the East Sea to avoid the chaos of King Zhou of Shang. He fished in the Wei River with a straight hook, not truly aiming to catch fish but intending to attract the attention of a worthy lord. Hearing of his wisdom, King Wen of Zhou invited him to serve as his mentor (essentially the Prime Minister) when he was 80. Later, when Zhou overthrew the Shang dynasty, King Wu called him "Father Shang" and granted his son the title Duke Ding of Qi.
