Understanding the Feng Shui and Zodiac Compatibility of Pets: Insights from Master Jason Chan of Won Yan Feng Shui

A common concern among pet owners is whether their pets might negatively affect their luck based on Feng Shui and their zodiac sign. Recently, I received an email asking about this, and I’m here to provide some clarity.

Zodiac

A Client's Question

A Client wrote in with the following question:

"Master Jason, I hope you are well! I have a question that has been bothering me. My zodiac sign is Rooster, and I find rabbits adorable, so I bought one to keep at my shop. However, a customer told me that having a rabbit at my shop (which is on the dragon side) would bring me bad luck and harm my business. Is this true? "

My Response

First, let’s address her concern: From a zodiac perspective, your sign is Rooster, represented by the Earthly Branch 'You', while a rabbit corresponds to 'Mao'. You and Mao are part of the Six Clash Combinations (Liuchong). Placing the rabbit on the "dragon side" of your shop likely refers to the Green Dragon side in Feng Shui, which is the left side. This Green Dragon side represents a favorable position and is not actually the 'Chen' (Dragon) position, so it doesn’t create a harmful combination with 'Mao' (Rabbit). Simply put, keeping a rabbit won’t cause financial loss or harm your business.

The Six Clash Combinations in Feng Shui

In Feng Shui metaphysics, there's a concept known as the Six Clash Combinations (Liuchong) or enemies. These combinations are:

- Zi (Rat) and Wu (Horse)

- Chou (Ox) and Wei (Goat)

- Yin (Tiger) and Shen (Monkey)

- Mao (Rabbit) and You (Rooster)

- Si (Snake) and Hai (Pig)

- Chen (Dragon) and Xu (Dog)

Each Earthly Branch corresponds to a specific zodiac animal. For example, 'Mao' corresponds to the Rabbit, and 'Chen' corresponds to the Dragon. The Rabbit (Mao) and Dragon (Chen) combination is considered one of the Six Harmful Combinations. If someone with a Dragon sign keeps a rabbit, it might slightly affect their luck, primarily causing minor disputes or misunderstandings with others. However, these effects are usually not severe, so there’s no need to worry excessively.

Conclusion

To summarize, not all pet and zodiac combinations result in bad luck. While some combinations, like Rabbit and You, fall under the Six Clash Combinations, their impact is often minimal. As Master Jason Chan from Won Yan Feng Shui, I encourage you to consider both Feng Shui principles and zodiac compatibility thoughtfully but not to be overly concerned about minor conflicts. Enjoy your pets and the joy they bring to your life!
